Year 2016

The first entry from Sri Lanka for Formula Student®, the DMORA P1 was engineered by the University of Moratuwa. Constructed with a one-piece tubular steel spaceframe using structural steel A36, the DMORA P1 weighs 340 kg, measuring 2920mm in length, 1650mm in width and 1100mm in height. The wheelbase of this innovative machine is 1550mm with a front and rear track of 1350mm and 1400mm respectively. In order to achieve the grip necessary for racing, 20.5×7.0-13, Hoosier R25B racing slicks have been fitted over 13’’ OZ Racing aluminum rims which are 7’’ in width. The suspension is a double unequal length A-arm with pull rod actuated coil-over dampers. The Haltech ELITE 1500 ECU manages a Honda CBR 600 RR 2008 4-cylinder engine which produces a peak power of 45kW and a peak torque of 50Nm. The differential is a Dexler FSAE Limited Slip Differential with a chain drive.
